Description
Yuan Shan Distillery is located in Yilan, in the northeast of Taiwan. This young distillery started its activity in 2006 and has already won several awards on the international scene. Its whiskies are influenced by the mists of the Pacific Ocean and the purity of the sources of the snow-capped Hsueshan Mountains. The Solist range is composed of the best single casks of the distillery, bottled at cask strength. This intense whisky is matured in American oak wine barrel. A barrel that has been re-toasted to bring out the fruit and vanilla notes from the wood into the whisky.
Tasting notes of the distillery: A rich fusion of vanilla and caramelized sugars with dark chocolate on top. Ripe melon and mango together with kiwi and a delicate blend of citrus fruits burst. Pepper is also present in the background waiting to be noticed.
