Description
This Lagavulin 12 year old cask strength whisky is proposed as part of Diageo's special release 2021. This roaring whisky was aged in refill American oak casks. And before tasting it, listen to the little fable around the Lagavulin symbol to be scanned on the back of the box.
Tasting notes of the distillery: On the nose, fresh and maritime with notes of sea air, salt and dried seaweed, lemon and a wood smoke from a distant bonfire on the coast. On the palate, the texture is smooth and nicely oily. The taste is sweet to start then soon growling with intense lemon acidity with a hint of sea salt and a persistent char talking each sip. The finish is long with big waves of smoke, and roaring with chilli pepper warmth. Even better with a dash of water. Smoke lasts wonderfully in the aftertaste.
