Description
The Kilchoman distillery was founded in 2005 and, as a farm distillery, it produces some of its own barley, including the Publican variety, which we find in this twelfth 2022 edition of 100% Islay. This 20 ppm peated edition is made from 29 bourbon casks and 6 oloroso sherry casks of a whisky that has been aged for a minimum of 8 years.
Tasting notes of the distillery: On the nose, a floral sweetness followed by spices, plums, dates and leather notes. On the palate, dried fruits, mild spices, malt and vanilla and a citrusy sweetness finish with waves of fresh peat smoke.
