The distillery Auchentoshan, located near Glasgow, is one of the few in Scotland to use a triple distillation process (borrowed from Ireland) that gives the whisky its particular character that tends to be lighter and fruity. This is the case with this single malt, which has a rich intensity of fragrance and notes of red fruit, maraschino cherry, marzipan and caramel that follow you with smoothness and delicacy. This 29 year old single malt, vintage 1988, was aged in ex-bourbon casks and finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.
