Description

There is a lot to say about this mythical Scottish distillery which unfortunately closed its doors in 1983. All that is left is its malting plant which is still working for the Islay distilleries and a discreet reserve of casks which are slowly maturing. This Port Ellen, distilled in 1982, is proposed by the bottler Murray McDavid in its prestige range. it’s a 27 year old whisky, aged in bourbon casks and matured in Château D'Yquem casks which were selected by Jim McEwan. The whisky was bottled in 2009 at Bruichladdich with its natural strength and colour and without chill filtering for an edition of 1175 bottles.
