This heavily peated Port Charlotte (40ppm) is made with 100% Scottish barley from Invernesshire. The 10 years of its maturation are spent for 65% in first fill American whisky casks, for 10% in second fill American whisky casks and for the remaining 25%, in second fill French wine casks. This single malt is bottled onsite with Islay spring water without chill filtration and colouring free, which appreciated once it’s in the glass.
Taste according to the distillery: barbecue smokiness, rich and spicy with sweet malty notes.
