The Bunnahabhain distillery is located by the sea on the island of Islay, just like its warehouse no.9, where this whisky, distilled on 7th February 2011, aged for 10 years. This limited edition is a marriage of port finished Bunnahabhain and malt fully matured in sherry casks which were brought together post maturation. Hence his name “Aonadh” in Gaelic which is pronounced "oon-ouch" and means “union”.
Tasting notes of the distillery: One the nose, rich creamy vanilla with notes of caramel, berries and a subtle hint of oak. On the palate, sweet red and black fruits are complimented with a cinnamon spice, roasted nuts and a slight saltiness coming through at the back.
