One of the points from which the Glengoyne distillery stands out is its slow distillation that brings a fruity sweetness to the whisky. For this cask strength batch no. 8, the composition is 29% first-fill sherry casks, 16% first-fill bourbon casks and for the remainder, a selection of refill oak casks.
Tasting notes of the distillery: On the nose, enticingly malty with apple pie, peach, vanilla, nutmeg and white chocolate. On the palate, buttery toffee popcorn, banana, soft oak and fruit. The finish is long with summer fruits, digestive biscuit and kiwi.
